Bookreview For my bookreview took the book LIES of SILENCE. The author is Brian Moore, published by Vintage in 1999. The book has 192 pages. 1. Introduce the book The book LIES of SILENCE is novel. It is an actionfull book with scenes with lot of suspens. 2. The plot The main character in this novel is Michael Dillon he workes in hotel in Nothern Ireland. He has wife, Moira Dillon. But Michael does not love Moira anymore, he has an affear with women named Andrea. Andrea told Michael that she got very good job offer in London but she do not want to leave Michael. So Michael said that he try to get job in London too and if he get one he will tell his wife Moira about the affear with Andrea and leave Moira. But that night something happened. few days before there stand white Ford in the road where the Dillons live. Michael saw the car twice but he did not thought something bad or dangrous about it. But suddenly members of the Irish Republican Army (IRA) broke in their house and take them as hostages. The member of IRA forced Michael to drive his car to his hotel, but bomb was fixed at the car. If Michael does not do what they told him, they will shot his wife Moira. Now the decision is in the hand from Michael. 3. Describe the overall organisation For me personally the book fits very good because the English level was ideal. understood the most things. Some of the words had to look up in dictionary. The story is told by outside standig person. There are dialogues but also just narrative text. 4. Favourite part favourite character of the book/ connection to other books My favourite part of the book is the moment Michael has do drive his own car with the ticking bomb to the hotel. It is my favourite part because he drive this route every day to get to his job but during this horrific ride he realized things that have not cared him really much before. He thinks about his past, his childhood, his time in school and his whole life. think that we should think more often about our life and not just in moment we are afraid to die. We should value our life more, we should enjoy every second we are breathing. Because so many things are just realized and appreciated in the moment we are afraid to lose it. When started reading the novel my favourite character always switched between Moira an Michael. But at the end it was Michael because was upset about the behaviour from Moira against the media in context with the happening with the IRA. 5. Recommendation think this book is good for people who likes action but not too much action. Because this novel has scenes with action, but it is not just stuffed with it. could imagine that this novel would fit in englishclass to read.
